Located inside the lobby of the Roe Green Center addition to the Kent Center for Performing Arts, ''Light Which Can Be Heard'' by Olga Ziemska is visible to passersby due to the glazed exterior walls of the lobby. The piece reflects movement via dancing figures and color patterns resembling the Aurora Borealis and Northern Lights.
About this Artist: Olga Ziemska is a sculptor and public artist that lives and works in downtown Cleveland, Ohio in a studio by Lake Erie. Ziemska received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Columbus College of Art and Design. She is a recipient of many prestigious grants and awards including a Fulbright Fellowship in 2002 and a Creative Workforce Fellowship in 2009 funded by Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. In 2007, Ziemska was selected as Wendy L. Moore Emerging Artist by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Cleveland. She has participated in several residencies nationally and abroad, including I-Park in Connecticut and the Centre of Polish Sculpture in Poland. Her work is exhibited both nationally and internationally with work reviewed in Sculpture magazine.
