As part of the recently announced partnership with Barnes & Noble College, the Kent State University at Salem and Kent State University at East Liverpool Bookstores will be closed from June 18 – July 5 for the transition. The bookstore will re-open on July 6.

BSN Mission to Haiti 2015

To most students, spring break means just that: a break from classes, lessons and campus. For a group of Kent State University nursing students, however, their most recent spring break was an intense learning experience that took them to remote villages in Haiti for a medical mission trip. Among those who made the trip were Dr. Mary Lou Ferranto, director of the BSN program at Kent State Salem, and two of her students: Sheila Daniels and Mathew Duck.

East Liverpool – Dr. Steve Nameth, dean of Kent State University at East Liverpool, announced those students named to the Spring 2015 President’s or Dean’s lists. To qualify for the President’s List, students must have a 4.0 grade point average and must have completed 15 or more credit hours during the semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a 3.40 or greater grade point average and must have completed 12 or more credit hours for the semester, the majority at the East Liverpool Campus.

Salem – Dr. Steve Nameth, dean of Kent State University at Salem, announced those students named to the Spring 2015 President’s and Dean’s lists. 2015 Commencement Keynote Speaker Dr. Todd Diacon Commencement ceremonies were held May 8 for the Kent State East Liverpool Campus, during which Dr. Steve Nameth, dean of the Kent State Columbiana County Campuses, presided over the event, along with Dr. Susan Rossi, assistant dean for the East Liverpool Campus.

Joseph Pritchard of Washingtonville received the prestigious Anna Ulen Engleman Creative Writing Award from the Kent State University English Department. He is a junior at the Kent State Salem Campus, majoring in English.

Along with his application for the award, Pritchard submitted a poem for consideration. He will be published in the June issue of Wordgathering ( www.wordgathering.com).
