Awards & Fellowships

The Division of Graduate Studies at Kent State University administers a number of fellowships and awards for continuing students.

A fellowship is an arrangement in which financial support is given to a graduate student to pursue his or her degree without any obligation on the part of the student to engage in service.  An award recognizes past achievements and meritorious performance.

Nominations:

  • Students must be nominated by their program/department.  Graduate coordinators will submit all nominations to the Division of Graduate Studies.  The nomination form for each award may be found on the individual awards pages.

Selection Process:

  • All nominees are reviewed by a committee comprised of faculty representing various ranks and disciplines.  Recipients are selected by the Dean of Graduate Studies.

Deadline for Nominations:

  • Nominations for all fellowships and awards are due by the last Friday in the month of March.  Late nominations will not be accepted.
