Chief counsel to IRS to speak at UF Law

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The chief counsel to the Internal Revenue Service will speak at the University of Florida Levin College of Law as part of the Graduate Tax Program’s Enrichment Speaker Series.

William Wilkins will give his talk entitled “How IRS Lawyers Contribute to Sound Tax Enforcement” Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Chesterfield Smith Ceremonial Classroom, Holland Hall room 180.

As chief counsel – appointed by the President of the United States – Wilkins serves as chief legal adviser to the commissioner of the IRS and also provides the IRS, the Treasury and taxpayers with legal guidance and interpretive advice.
