Yellow Ribbon Program

Northeastern is proud to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program at the highest level possible. We have invested $2 million overall to offer each student up to $25,000 per year, depending on his or her degree program.

If the cost of your tuition and fees exceed the maximum annual Post-9/11 GI Bill payment, you can apply to the program to cover your additional expenses.

You may be eligible if:

  • You served an aggregate period of active duty after September 10, 2001 of at least 36 months;
  • You were honorably discharged from active duty for a service-connected disability and you served 30 continuous days after September 10, 2001;
  • You are a dependent eligible for Transfer of Entitlement under the Post-9/11 GI Bill based on a veteran’s service under the eligibility criteria listed above.

To note: Active military members and their spouses are not eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program. They may transfer their eligibility to their children, however.

Students enrolled in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing or the online RN-to-BSN program are not eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program, but may be eligible for Post-9/11 GI Bill funding.
