Deep South NetworkThe Deep South CME Network was founded in 2003 in a collaboration between the UAB Division of CME and the Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation to bring evidence-based educational experiences on the care of complex patients to southeastern physicians and nurse practitioners. Since that time, the UAB Division of CME has offered monthly online educational experiences for CME credit based on the needs of its members. Think FastIt’s all about time. With a stroke, time lost is brain lost. The quicker that a stroke is recognized and treated the higher the likelihood that the patient will survive and recover. So what can you do to educate your patients?
Patient Education Videos – The CME Division worked with UAB neurologists specializing in stroke to develop educational videos to answer patients’ questions: what is a stroke, what are the signs and symptoms of stroke, how is a stroke diagnosed and how is a stroke treated? Check out the videos and share with your patients.
FAST Posters – FAST is an easy acronym to remember when it comes to recognizing strokes. The CME Division is providing laminated 36” x 24” FAST posters to 30 physicians. Fill out this form to request your poster.
These patient education materials were developed based on information uncovered in a recent collaborative stroke research project. More information on this project and others.
